Roe / Tonkin Highways Statistical Pass by Index Monitoring
Herring Storer Acoustics was commissioned by Main Roads Western Australia to undertake a noise study to determine and compare noise levels from various road surfaces. The purpose of the study was to compare the relative performance of each type of road surface.
This involved carrying out noise level measurements of noise emissions from over 1700 vehicles, as well as other parameters such as speed and class of vehicle. These measurements were then analysed to provide overall and relative results.
Herring Storer Acoustics managed the entire project, including liaising with Main Roads and coordinating and using the traffic speed / classification monitoring Equipment (TIRTL).
